I have been diligently working on sending out several queries to different literary agencies. Each agency has different requirements on what they are asking for wether it be a chapter synopsis, a sample chapter, or what they would like in their cover letter so I can't just cut and paste all the info into each email. I am hoping that I will get a positive reply. I understand that this will take time. If I don't make time to send out queries then I can't expect to get replies!
I will stay positive as I make my way through this endeavor and I know my hard work will pay off.
Stay tuned... I'll post an update after this weekend to see how many I can get sent out.
Have a safe and happy Memorial Day, and remember that our freedom isn't free. We owe it to our soldiers!
I have successfully sent out 3 queries; one of which I've already gotten a rejection letter on; which is okay. I'm slowly sifting through my list of potential agents and will send out at least 2 more before the day ends.
ReplyDeleteHere's an update on the queries I've sent out.
ReplyDeleteI'm 7 for 7 on rejection letters. I'm going to sit down and maybe re-ogarnize the letter. Maybe I'm approaching it all wrong.
According to Michael Levin's Ultimate Resource website: http://www.acceleratedghostwriting.com. He hosted a webinar on July 6 that addressed several issues and burning questions that most writers have. Having attended the webinar I left with a questionable feeling of how I was going about it. Maybe I was doing query letters all wrong.
But we'll see if his tactics work. I'll keep you posted on how my new query letter pans out.
